IDE was founded in 1985 by David Moriconi, IDE President and CEO, and the late Dr. Petr Sehnal. Since its' founding in 1985, IDE has designed, developed and engineered over 300 successful products manufactured and distributed world wide. These products range from very high-volume consumer products to almost jewel-like scientific equipment. The common thread for all of these products is IDE's unique blend of distinctive, user-sensitive industrial design and solid mechanical design engineering founded upon 20+ years of high-tech manufacturing expertise.

IDE was an early adopter of 3D CAD tools, developing an entire product, Stereographics' CrystalEyes stereoscopic eyewear, including all production tools and molds, directly from 3D CAD data as early as 1988. We have maintained a philosophy of utilizing the most advanced computer aided 3D design, engineering and manufacturing tools to provide our clients with true concurrent product design and development services custom tailored to fit the needs of each customer.

Our stable of development tools include Pro Engineer and Solid Works for parametric solids modeling and surfacing, Rhino 3D for very complex bio-morphic NURBS surfacing, Cinema 4D rendering software for creating photo-realistic renderings, Cosmos/M for structural and thermal analysis, SnapMaster for shock and vibration data acquisition, and SmartCam for complex freeform 3D CNC manufacturing.
