Paul Naud — Electronics Hardware Engineer

Paul NaudPaul Naud is a talented new member of IDE’s electronics hardware engineering team. Paul comes to IDE from ABB Wireless, a pioneering Swiss technology leader with utility, industry, transport and infrastructure customers in roughly 100 countries where he held the position of Project and Hardware Engineer.

While at ABB Wireless Paul was responsible for designing, testing and manufacturing wireless mesh networking platforms for industrial applications. This includes researching new technologies, prototype development and testing procedures to ensure product quality. Paul is well versed in the design and layout of multi-layer printed circuit boards.

Prior to his tenure at ABB Wireless, Paul was Head of Electrical Engineering at Electric Movement, a robotic platform developer for Google in Mountain View, CA where he was a key designer of the electrical system for a mecanum robotic platform, including power distribution, safety and modularity. His responsibilities also included DFM, power harness design, IP ratings, circuit protection, battery protection and mechanical integration.

Paul holds a MSEE and BSEE from the University of California, Santa Cruz where he also served as a Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering Capstone Teaching Assistant, managing up to 8 simultaneous undergraduate engineering team projects. Paul received a 2012-2013 Excellence in Teaching Award for his UCSC Capstone TA work.
